Open a blank canvas and pick the Pen tool. Click to drop anchor points, or click and drag to pull out curved handles.
Refine and Combine
Switch to the Node tool to tweak each curve. Shape Builder then merges separate pieces into one clean outline.
Export Anywhere
Press ⇧⌘E for the Export dialog. Save PNG at any size, plain SVG for the web or PDF for print.
Pro Tip: Batch Export from Terminal
Inkscape ships a full command line. The Homebrew cask adds an inkscape command, so one line turns any SVG into a crisp PNG.
Heads up for Mac users. Since 1.4.3, Python extensions stay off when Inkscape starts from Terminal. It patches CVE-2025-15523. Open the app from Finder or Launchpad whenever you need an extension.
